The Scoop

Mohamed Rebatchi, the son of Algerian immigrants, wanted Jasmin Satin to replicate the glorious smell of jasmine drifting through the night breeze he smelled while riding his bike through jasmine fields one evening in his native land. And indeed, this scent captures the heady aroma of white flowers as smelled in nature, as one passes by vine-covered walls and secret gardens in warm, Southern cities.

Though distinctly a jasmine-forward fragrance, the Sambac jasmine note in Jasmin Satin is actually but one of a whole chorus of white flowers leaping into bloom under the ripening warmth of the sun. Crisp, green gardenia and salty-creamy lily are noticeable in the warm jasminey fug, as is a marshmallowy orange blossom. Flourishes of white peach give the florals a sweet, juicy facet that feels nostalgic, while the warm, polished woods in the base – rosewood and cedar – anchor the fruits and flowers without over-shadowing them. Jasmin Satin is, as implied by the name, a satiny jasmine scent, but its touches of fruit, sand, and airy musks give it a fun, frothy texture that make it a great choice for those who find white florals too heavy or mature for their tastes. This is the innocence of flowers in bloom, bottled.
